A 27-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder following a stabbing at a house in the Fortwilliam Parade area of north Belfast.
A man was taken to hospital after sustaining a number of stab wounds in the incident which happened around midnight.
The 27-year-old man remains in police custody.
Detective Sergeant William Arnott would appeal to anyone who heard or witnessed anything unusual in the area to contact detectives at Musgrave PSNI Station on the non-emergency number 101, quoting reference 10 16/01/20.
