A man was arrested after four properties were searched and cash recovered by police in Ballykeel in Ballymena.
The searches on Friday were part of the PSNI’s ongoing commitment to disrupt the sale and supply of drugs in the community.
Inspector Marc Riddell said police acted on concerns within the community regarding the availability of drugs.
“This afternoon we searched four properties and recovered cash and other items linked to the supply of controlled drugs. We also arrested one man. We are acutely aware of concerns within the community regarding the availability of drugs and where we have information we can take proactive action like we did today to make our community safer,” he said.
Inspector Marc Riddell said the community does not want drug dealing.
“Just this week we had the launch of the #Here2Help app and roadshow and we saw very clearly the impact that drug misuse has on individuals and families. The community has made it clear that it does not want or welcome the criminal gangs who prey on the vulnerable for criminal and financial gain,” he said.
And he said the more information police has about drug dealing in Mid and East Antrim, the more they can do to disrupt the supply and put the dealers before the courts.
The operation was led by police with assistance from colleagues in District Support Team, Criminal Investigation Department & Tactical Support Group.
