A 26-year-old man has been charged with conspiracy to steal in connection with an ATM raid at Tesco in Antrim in the early hours of Friday morning.
He is due to appear before Coleraine Magistrates Court on Monday (December 9). And as is normal procedure all charges will be reviewed by the Public Prosecution Service.
A 43-year-old was arrested on Friday on suspicion of conspiracy to steal. He has been released on police bail pending further enquiries.
A digger which was used to gouge out a double ATM at Tesco in Castle Way was then set on fire. Police discovered the two machines a few miles from Tesco.
Detective Chief Inspector McCubbin is continuing to ask for anyone with information to come forward.
“Our investigation into this is ongoing and I continue to appeal to anyone who has any information that can assist us with our enquiries to contact detectives in Antrim on 101, quoting reference 126 06/12/19,” he added.
“Alternative, information can also be provided to the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 which is 100% anonymous and gives people the power to speak up and stop crime.”
