A man was robbed of his bag which contained an iPad, prescription medication and cash after he was hit over the head in an armed robbery on the Fairview Road in Carnmoney, Co Antrim.
The incident happened this morning (Tuesday, May 18) shortly before 4.30am.
Police say the man was hit on the back of the head with an object.
During the altercation, he was thrown to the ground and sustained a further injury to his hip.
He was taken to hospital for treatment for injuries, which are not believed to be life threatening.
The suspect is described as being approximately six feet tall and of medium build.
He is reported to have been wearing black tracksuit bottoms, a black coat with the hood up and a black mask.
