A man in his 20s was injured after four masked men with a hammer and a bat broke into a house and attacked him in Ballymena.
The aggravated burglary happened at a residential property in the Lanntara area of the town on Saturday night at approximately 11.25pm.
Police say that four masked men broke a window at the back of the house before entering through the front door. It was reported that the four men were carrying a hammer, bat and may have had a machete.
The man was asleep on the sofa when the intruders started to attack him. He sustained injuries to his face which did not require hospital treatment at the time.
