A 43-year-old man is due to appear at Newtownards Magistrates Court on Friday on arson charges.
He has been charged with two counts of arson, arson being reckless as to whether life would be endangered and arson endangering life with intent.
The charges are in relation to a report of a number of bins having been set alight in Holywood on Thursday.
As is normal procedure, all charges will be reviewed by the Public Prosecution Service.
