A man in his 50s was found lying unconscious on the ground at the back of licensed premises in Rasharkin at the weekend following an assault.
The man was taken to hospital where he remains in a critical condition.
Detectives are investigating.
The incident is reported to have happened in the Main Street area of the village on Sunday night (16 April) just after 10pm.
Detective Inspector Gareth Lavery said a 56-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm. He is due to appear before Coleraine Magistrates Court on Monday 15 May.
“Our enquiries continue, and I am appealing to anyone with information, or who witnessed any form of altercation, to please come forward. Call us on 101, and quote reference number 1944 of 16/04/23,” he said.
