A man in his 60s sustained head injuries after being assaulted by two masked men in Glynn, outside Larne, last night (Wednesday, 24 June).
He was able to get the men out of the property in Glenvale Park, however, they attacked his vehicle, using the bat, before fleeing.
Detectives are investigating the aggravated burglary which happened at around 11:30pm.
Detective Sergeant Lenaghan said it was a ‘brutal assault.’
“Enquiries are ongoing to establish what occurred, and a motive for the attack.
“We are keen to hear from anyone who was in the area last night and saw what occurred, or has information which may assist our investigation.
“We are also keen to hear from anyone who saw any vehicles being driven in a suspicious manner in the area last night, in particular, a silver-coloured Ford Transit van.
