Two men armed with a knife threatened a man, pushed him to the ground and made off with a wallet and a watch in the New Lodge in north Belfast on Monday (April 22).
The incident happened at New Lodge Road at around 4am.
Detectives are appealing for information following the report of the armed robbery.
Detective Constable Murray said it was reported that two unknown men approached a man in his 30s who was walking in the area.
He said the men threatened the man with a knife and made off with a wallet and a watch during the incident. The man was pushed to the ground and sustained a minor arm injury.
The man armed with the knife is described as being of a stocky build and 5ft 7″ in height. He was wearing a navy top, maroon jogging style bottoms and a black beanie hat. The second man is described as being 5ft tall and of slim build. He was wearing a white tracksuit with a tattoo of a circle with a cross on the right side of his eye.
“Enquiries are continuing and we would continue to appeal to anyone who witnessed the incident or saw anything suspicious in the area to contact detectives on 101, quoting reference number 445 22/4/19. Alternatively, information can also be provided to the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 which is 100% anonymous and gives people the power to speak up and stop crime,” added Detective Constable Murray.
