A man in his 20s sustained a stab wound to the chest at a house in Forkhill on Wednesday night (19 August).
Detectives in Newry are appealing for information following the incident which happened in the Michael McCreesh Park area.
Detective Sergeant Johnston said police were notified by Northern Ireland Ambulance Service, just after 7.15pm, that a man had sustained a stab wound to the chest.
A 22-year-old man arrested on suspicion of attempted murder, was subsequently released unconditionally.
“Enquiries are ongoing, and I would appeal to anyone with information, or who noticed any suspicious activity in the area, to contact us on 101 quoting reference number 1778 of 19/08/20,” he added.
