Two Galgorm employees isolating after positive COVID-19 test

Two staff members at the Galgorm Spa and Golf Resort have tested positive for COVID-19, according to media reports.

A spokesperson for Galgorm said that ‘following its own robust testing procedures’, two asymptomatic team members who tested positive last Thursday have been ‘self-isolating at home, in line with company policy.’

The staff members are understood to be back-of-house employees who have had no contact with guests.

The Co Antrim hotel will be home to some of the world’s top golfers during next month’s Irish Open.

Galgorm said it had implemented safety measures due to concerns about an increase in the number of positive cases.

And McDonald’s in Coleraine had to close for a deep clean an employee tested positive for COVID-19.

Other establishments in the area affected by the coronavirus were the Hill Tavern in Carnmoney and the Bellevue Arms.
