A man in his 30s was knocked unconscious during an altercation outside licensed premises on the Dublin Road.
The serious assault happened in the early hours of Tuesday (10 January) around 2am. Items of jewellery were also reported to have been stolen from him during the attack.
The victim sustained serious facial injuries and was taken to hospital for treatment where he had surgery on a broken jaw.
Police enquiries are ongoing and anyone who was in the area at the time and saw anything, or who may have dashcam, CCTV or other video footage, should contact police on 101, quoting reference 11 of 11/1/23.
