A man sustained two suspected broken eye sockets and a broken nose in a sectarian assault as he walked his dog in Whitewell.
It happened in ‘Throne Wood’, a small wooded area running from the Whitewell Road to the Antrim Road, on Wednesday August 25th.
Detective Constable Majury said the attack was carried out by three unknown men at around 10pm.
The victim suffered two suspected broken eye sockets and a broken nose. He was subjected to sectarian abuse and police are treating this as a sectarian hate crime.
“We are appealing for anyone who may have witnessed the assault or may have been in the area around the time the assault took place to contact detectives on 101 quoting reference number 1077 31/08/21,” said Detective Constable Majury.
