Villagers searching for missing Irish teenager Nora Quoirin believe she is no longer in the surrounding area, according to the Malay Mail.
Members of the Orang Asli community who have been searching for the 15-year-old who has learning disabilities, say she would be wandering around if she had become lost.
According to the newspaper, the lax security at the Dusun resort, around an hour from Kuala Lumpur where Nora and her family had planned to enjoy a trip of a lifetime, could mean an unknown person was in the area.
“There are no security guards at the The Dusun area or proper CCTV to watch the surroundings. There are also easy exits even if the main gate is locked,” one man told the Malay Mail.
“I was also told by the police on the particular day of the incident that the main gate was not locked. So it could be anyone coming in and out,” he added.
Nora and her family arrived at the resort last Sunday for a two-week family holiday but was discovered missing the following morning.
Nora Anne’s aunt, Aisling Agnew, has maintained that Nora would never leave her family voluntarily.
