A motorist was left badly shaken after a tree fell on a car in Moneymore.
The incident happened last night (Saturday) at Stonard Street during the high winds.
Police are asking motorists to be wary if they are out and about in Mid-Ulster.
“Just be aware if you’re out and about there are trees down. Ourselves and Road Service are dealing with them, but with the majority of our roads being rural there’s a reasonable chance tonight you’ll be driving and suddenly find a tree blocking the road in front of you,” said a PSNI spokesperson.
Stonard Street, Moneymore is closed following a tree falling on a car due to high winds this evening (Saturday 26th January). The driver was left badly shaken, but not injured. Motorists are advised to seek alternative main routes for their journey and avoid the area.
