Netflix customers are set to pay around an extra £1 per month.
The company will increase the monthly cost to £8.99 for the standard tier, and £11.99 for the premium tier – an extra £2.
The streaming company has not raised prices in the UK since 2017. The price of a basic plan remains unchanged at £5.99.
The basic plan allows viewing on a single device and only in standard definition. The standard subscription permits the use of two devices at the same time and high-definition viewing. A premium subscription allows viewing on up to four devices at any given time, with the option of ultra-high definition.

My take is that a lot of viewers won’t notice, but it puts pressure on Netflix to keep generating hits to keep subscribing. And we’ve got Apple, BritBox too, entering the market.
