Missing golden eagle Griff reportedly seen in Ballyclare

Griff the missing golden eagle has been reportedly spotted in Ballyclare.

The eagle which escaped from World of Owls in Randalstown is thought to have been seen along the leafy Hillhead Road and Templepatrick Road areas, and residents are asked to be vigilant.

Griff has a 6ft wingspan so he is instantly recognisable, but could be mistaken for a buzzard. These are claimed sightings – and Griff still could be in the greater Randalstown area.

World Of Owls is Northern Ireland’s premier owl, bird of prey and exotic animal conservation centre and is run by volunteers.

Searchers have spent the past week trying to locate Griff and return him to the centre.

Anyone who sees Griff should contact the World of Owls Facebook Page immediately.
