People in Northern Ireland are being warned to look out for bogus text messages which claim the recipient has been in ‘close contact’ with someone with the Omicron strain of COVID-19.
This is yet another COVID-related scam and the PSNI in conjunction with Scamwise NI is asking people to be wary if they receive such a message.
They say the link is very convincing, but fake, and the texts are designed to gain personal and bank details.
Police are reminding people that the NHS will not ask you to pay for COVID tests and will never ask for bank details.
