A paint bomb has been thrown at a Catholic church in Larne.
The paint bomb was hurled over the wall of the church in the Agnew Street area of the town this morning (Sunday, 16 February).
The incident is being treated as a hate crime.
Police in Larne are appealing for information following the criminal damage.
Sergeant Alan Lowry said police received the report at around 11am.
“Enquiries are continuing and at this stage the incident is being treated as a sectarian hate crime.
“We would appeal to anyone with any information to contact police in Larne on 101, quoting reference number 608 16/02/20,” he added.
Alternatively, information can also be provided to the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 which is 100% anonymous and gives people the power to speak up and stop crime.
