Well off parents from countries outside the UK bought around £2bn of property in London over the past year.
They snapped up the property in order to get their children into private schools and universities in London.
That’s according to high-end estate agent Knight Frank
It said foreign buyers bought over 2,000 properties – a rise from the previous year.
Liam Bailey, Knight Frank’s head of research, said the properties were purchased to be used as a base while the children were at prestigious schools such as Eton and Harrow.
According to the research, many of the buyers come from China and Hong Kong, followed by Singapore, India and Russia.
