The 54-year-old pedestrian who died following a collision with a pick-up truck in Irvinestown on Tuesday morning was Elaine Patricia McGarrity.
A 22-year-old driver has been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and he is currently in police custody.
Ms McGarrity, from the Irvinestown area, died following the collision involving a Toyota Hilux pick-up truck at around 9am this morning on the Brownshill Link Road.
The road has been closed in both directions following the crash.
Inspector Greg Beckett has appealed to anyone who was travelling on the Brownshill Link Road this morning and witnessed the collision or anyone who has dash-cam footage that could assist with police enquiries to contact officers at Omagh on the non-emergency number 101, quoting reference 321 31/12/19.
