Pet dog put to sleep after suspected acid attack

A pet dog had to be put to sleep after a suspected acid attack in Newry.

‘Patch’ was found in the Pound Road area just after 6pm on Tuesday.

Reports on social media suggest that the dog may have been the victim of a cruel acid attack.

It was discovered injured by a woman who contacted the area’s dog warden.

Police say that enquiries were ongoing in relation to the incident.
