A pizza delivery driver was injured after being assaulted and robbed of cash by two men, one of whom was armed with a knife, in Ballymena this morning (Sunday).
The robbery happened in the Lanntara area in the early hours. The driver suffered minor injuries to his face and hands.
Detective Sergeant Lyttle said at around 2:30am, the delivery driver was approached by two men who assaulted him. The knife was held close to his face.
They made off with a sum of cash, a pizza hot box and two pizzas.
The men are described as being in their mid-20s, and they were wearing tracksuits and spoke with local accents.
“Enquiries are continuing and we are appealing to anyone who witnessed anything suspicious in the area to contact Police/detectives in Ballymena on 101, quoting reference number 349 of 28/07/19,” added Detective Sergeant Lyttle.
