Police are investigating a report of a serious assault on a woman in Larne in the early hours of Christmas morning.
The incident is believed to have occurred at around 1am in the Killyglen Link/Lindara area of the town – however police have just released details about the incident.
Detective Constable Curry said police are particularly keen to hear from the driver of a vehicle who gave the woman a lift from the Old Glenarm Road area a short time before the incident, in case they may have any information that can assist with their enquiries.
Police are appealing to anyone who has information that could assist with the investigation, or who saw any suspicious activity in the area that morning, to get in touch.
