The Portaferry Road in Greyabbey was closed this morning to allow police to conduct further investigations into the collision that claimed the life of 87-year-old Beryl Carson.
The pensioner died in a two vehicle collision on Thursday 27 August around 2pm on the Portaferry Road. A black Citroen C3 and a silver Lexus were involved in the collision.
Beryl, who was the front seat passenger of the Citroen was taken to hospital but sadly died as a result of her injuries.
The woman driver and three children inside the Citroen were taken to hospital for treatment to their injuries. The woman driving the Lexus was also taken to hospital following the incident.
The Portaferry Road, Greyabbey was closed from 10.15am this morning between Greyabbey village and Inishargy Road in Kircubbin.
The road has now re-opened.
Police want to hear from anyone who may have been on the road at the time of the collision or captured dash-cam footage, which would have been a very busy time of the day, to contact police on 101 quoting reference number 984 27/08/20.
