Police in Belfast have confiscated abortion pills from campaigners after a number of women were seen swallowing the medication during a protest.
The PSNI has confirmed that it seized a robot that was intended to hand out the pills to women.
The incident took place outside Laganside Courthouse on Thursday afternoon.
People had gathered outside the court to protest against the lack of access to women’s rights in Northern Ireland.
Anti-abortion campaigners Precious Life also attended the protest.
Following the Republic of Ireland’s overwhelming vote in favour of abortion law reform, Northern Ireland will soon be the only part of the UK and Ireland where abortion is illegal – unless there is a serious risk to a woman’s life or health.
Unlike other parts of the UK, the 1967 Abortion Act does not cover Northern Ireland.
