A fire which broke out at a property in the Pretoria Street area of south Belfast is being treated as arson.
Detectives are appealing for information following the incident which occurred just before 5am this morning (Sunday, June 23).
NIFRS says the fire appears to be deliberate, so police are currently treating it as arson.
Police are particularly keen to speak to a man believed to have been seen in the area at the time. He is described as being in his mid to late 30s, approximately 5ft 9” tall with tanned skin, short hair and he is thought to have been wearing a navy tracksuit.
Detective Sergeant Eric Fairfield said this was a reckless act and that it was fortunate no one was injured.
“Enquiries are continuing and we are appealing to anyone who witnessed anything suspicious in the area to contact Detectives in Musgrave on 101, quoting reference number 462 of 23/06/19,” he said.
