A ‘potential major incident’ was declared at Antrim Area hospital earlier on Tuesday when a large number of ill people were waiting to be admitted.
The incident began to unfold around 2pm on Tuesday.
A ‘potential’ is one step away from a ‘major incident’.
It means there are too many patients for staff to deal with safely.
Earlier the Trust said there were high numbers of sick patients.
The ‘potential major incident’ has since ended.
The pressure on the hospital has been described as ‘intense.’
