The parter of journalist Lyra McKee has praised the Post Office staff for their efforts to ensure a sympathy letter arrived safely with her, despite not having her address written on the correspondence.
Sara Canning has thanked the Post Office for enabling the cards to reach her safely. Her partner Lyra was murdered while reporting in Derry/Londonderry the day before Good Friday. The Post Office has replied, stating that thanks should go to Royal Mail as they handle the deliveries.
One of the cards simply states POST OFFICE, please could you forward this to Sara Canning, with regard to the late Lyra McKee, Londonderry, Northern Ireland. Thank you. The letter has originated from the Royal Mail centre in Croydon, England.
Sara has publicly thanked the Post Office.
