The post mortem on the body of Nora Quoirin has revealed ‘no evidence of rape or kidnapping’.
Nora died from internal bleeding believed to be caused by prolonged hunger and stress, according to the Malaysian police.
Authorities said at a press conference on Thursday that there was currently no evidence of kidnapping, and added that the post-mortem did not find any sign she had been sexually abused.
Nora Quoirin’s body was discovered beside a stream about 1.6 miles from the jungle resort The Dusun on Tuesday.
Samples from her body were sent for toxicological tests but results are still pending.
The Quoirins may now claim Nora’s body at any time.
The schoolgirl’s grandfather, Sylvain Quoirin, who is a mayor in France, had previously said it was ‘unthinkable’ Nora would have wandered off alone because of the severity of her learning difficulties.
