Householders are being warned to be vigilant following reports of a caller purporting to be from the PSNI, asking for money and PIN numbers.
The warning comes from police following a number of incidents in the area.
The scammer is posing as an ‘Inspector Kirk’ from the PSNI or an officer from PSNI Fraud Squad. The caller asks for money which they say, they’ll collect in person or from a bank account. Worryingly, the caller is asking for PIN details.
The PSNI says the callers are fake and that a police officer will NEVER phone and ask for money or personal banking details.
