Scammers have been calling at houses in a bid to swindle people out of their £100 Northern Ireland High Street voucher.
Already scammers have been knocking on doors in Ards and North Down saying they can help with voucher applications.
The warning comes from Scamwise NI which is advising people to apply only through the official channels.
Scamwise NI says it is possible similar scamming methods will unfold while the scheme is running, so it’s important you’re aware of how to apply:
Online applications will be open from 27 September to 25 October via the NI direct website.
A telephone service will open on 11 October to support those who don’t have access or are unable to use the online portal.
When applying online you’ll need the following details for verification purposes – name; address; age; gender; disability status; National Insurance number; email address; and telephone number.
