Seven more people have died as a result of contracting COVID-19 in Northern Ireland.
Figures issued today (Thursday) show that the death toll here now stands at 501.
Three of the most recently recorded deaths occurred within the past 24 hours, and four outside of this time frame.
A total of 42 more people have tested positive – bringing the total number of confirmed cases to 4,481.
The number of confirmed cases of COVID-19 worldwide since the outbreak has passed 5,000,000. More than 328,000 people have died and 1.9 million have recovered, according to data from Johns Hopkins University
A two-day-old baby has died as a result of coronavirus in South Africa. The baby is one of the world’s youngest victims of the virus.
