Scammers are cold calling and e-mailing people in the Newtownabbey area claiming to be from HMRC.
Police say there has been a significant number of attempted scams in the district over the last 24 hours.
They say HMRC will never cold call you and never ask for payment by iTunes vouchers.
Police say genuine HMRC representatives will never make threats that you may be arrested if payments are not made immediately.
“Have the conversation with close family and relatives especially if they are not on a social media platform,” said a police spokesperson.
