A photographer who lives in the USA has been searching for a mystery couple whom he snapped while in the middle of a marriage proposal.
Matthew Dippel photographed the couple on October 6 in Yosemite National Park in California while waiting to take a photograph of his friend.
He told the BBC that the national park has been on his bucket list to visit for some time.
“Yosemite is an incredible place to take photos – honestly it’s a hard place to take a bad photo in.
“I had seen a lot of really, really beautiful pictures from Taft Point and wanted to see it for myself. We planned on going there at sunset and next thing, well you can see what happened after that,” he told the BBC.
Some social media users have accused Matthew of staging the image.
“Everyone’s been really supportive and they’ve come to my defence to people who are trying to question the validity of the photo. It’s not staged at all. I don’t know the couple, I’m just trying to figure out who they are,” Matthew said.
Twitter help, idk who these two are but I hope this finds them. I took this at Taft Point at Yosemite National Park, on October 6th, 2018. pic.twitter.com/Rdzy0QqFbY
