Three men threatened staff with a pen knife at a fast food outlet in north Belfast last night.
The incident happened around 10:15pm.
Three men attempted to enter the premises through a locked front door. The suspects then approached the drive-through area of the premises and threatened staff with what was described as a pen knife.
A struggle ensued between one of the suspects and two of the staff members who managed to fight him off.
The men subsequently fled on foot. They are believed to have made off in the direction of North Queen Street. Before leaving, one of the men kicked a front door causing the glass to crack.
One of the men was wearing a red cap with a yellow peak, and a black zipped-up jacket. The second suspect was wearing a light blue top. A third suspect had on a black top with white shorts.
There were no reports of any injuries – however – staff members have been left shaken. Nothing was reported stolen.
Police are particularly keen to speak to a customer in the drive-through area last night who was present at the time of the incident.
And they’re also investigating the theft of a cash register from the drive through area at the same premises on Wednesday night (June 13), at around 10:40pm.
The suspect was wearing a dark-coloured top.
Police are investigating the possibility that these two incidents may be linked.
Police want anyone who was in the Brougham Street area last night at around 10:15pm, or on Wednesday at around 10:40pm and noticed any suspicious to contact detectives at Musgrave on the non emergency number 101.
