A substantial amount was money was taken after a cash machine was broken into near an off-licence on the Castlereagh Road, Belfast, early this morning (Tuesday, December 18).
The incident happened shortly after 3:30am.
The thieves are believed to have made off towards Wayland Street following the incident.
Detectives are appealing for information and witnesses.
Detective Sergeant McPhillips said enquiries are continuing and police are appealing to anyone with any information or who saw anything suspicious in the area to contact detectives on 101, quoting reference number 377 18/12/18.
