Suspected cocaine, over 8,000 counterfeit cigarettes and a large number of fireworks have been seized in Magherafelt.
Detectives from PSNI Organised Crime Unit conducted a search at a property in the area today (Friday 1 May ).
A 22-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of possession of a class A controlled drug, possession of fireworks without a licence, trading in counterfeit products and possession of criminal property. The man has since been released on bail pending further police enquiries.
Detective Inspector Shaw said the search was a proactive crime operation targeting organised criminality in the Mid Ulster area.
‘As a result of the search we recovered approximately 8,400 counterfeit cigarettes, a large number of fireworks and a quantity of suspected cocaine.
“Information from the public is key in our efforts to stop those who profit from illegal activities. I would ask anyone with any information which can assist us to target these individuals to contact police on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111,” he added.
