A suspicious object found during a security alert at Island Road in Ballycarry has been declared a hoax.
Police and army technical officers examined the object following the earlier security alert.
It will now be taken away for further examination.
The Island Road has now re-opened.
Officers would ask anyone who saw any suspicious activity in the area recently to contact them in Larne on 101 quoting reference number 953 08/08/19.
