Teeanger assaulted in Belfast – police appeal for taxi driver to come forward

A 17-year-old woman was assaulted in the Malone Road area of Belfast in the early hours of yesterday morning (Sunday, December 9).

Detectives are working to establish the circumstances of the incident and they’re appealing for anyone who was in the Malone Road or Wellington Park area and who saw the woman walking in the direction of the city centre to contact police.

The woman is described as being 5ft 4” tall, of slim build with long brown hair past her shoulders. She was wearing a leopard design body top and leather jacket.

Detectives are particularly keen to speak with a taxi driver who collected the young woman in the area around 6am on Sunday and took her to an address in Dundonald.

Anyone with information is asked to contact officers on 101 quoting reference 422 09/12/18.  Alternatively information can be passed to the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 which is 100% anonymous and gives people the power to speak up and stop crime.
