The young child who was critically injured after being hit by a car on the Movilla Road in Newtownards has died.
He was named locally as Kai Corkum. A man was arrested at the scene.
The crash is believed to have involved a silver Volkswagon Golf. The incident occurred at around 5.20pm this evening (Thursday).
A man was arrested at the scene and is currently in custody assisting with police enquiries.
Two paramedics, two doctors and an A&E crew attended.
Officers would ask anyone who witnessed the collision or who may have dashcam footage to contact them at Newtownards on 101 quoting reference number 1000 13/12/18.
