A teenager has been robbed at knifepoint in Cadogan Street in south Belfast.
He was walking along the street in the Holyland area when an unknown man holding a small knife approached him. The man made off with a sum of money in the direction of Agincourt Avenue.
The incident happened yesterday (Monday 7 October) just before 5pm.
Detectives are appealing for information following the incident.
The suspect is described to being approximately 5ft 8” tall and of a slim build. He was wearing a hoodie and dark tracksuit bottoms.
Detective Sergeant Will Arnott said while the man was physically uninjured, this was without doubt a terrifying ordeal for him.
“We are appealing to anyone with information to get in touch. If you were in the area and witnessed this incident, contact us on 101 quoting reference number 1579 of 07/10/19.
“Alternatively, information can be provided to the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111, which is 100% anonymous and gives people the power to speak up and stop crime,” he added.
