A 17-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder.
It follows an alleged attack on a man at an address on the Antrim Road in north Belfast early this morning, Wednesday 13 May.
He has since been charged with attempted murder, aggravated burglary and possession of an offensive weapon with intent to commit an indictable offence, and is expected to appear before Belfast Magistrates’ Court tomorrow (14 May).
Detective Sergeant O’Flaherty said at around 2.30am it was reported that a 32-year-old man had sustained slash wounds and lacerations to his neck, head, forearms and back, believed to have been caused by a kind of ‘homemade knife’.
“The victim is undergoing treatment in hospital at present and his injuries are not thought to be life threatening at this stage.
