An 18-year-old man has been arrested following a police pursuit in west Belfast this morning (Friday 19 June).
Police received a report of a LandRover Discovery having been stolen just before 7am this morning,.
“Details of the vehicle were circulated and it was located a short time later by a police patrol on the Springfield Road. Police followed the vehicle as it travelled through the Springmartin and Ballygomartin areas.
“At this point, police signalled for the vehicle to stop, but it made off, travelling in the direction of the Springfield Road. Police pursued the vehicle for a short distance, before it crashed into two parked cars on the Upper Whiterock Road,” said Inspector Andrew McConville.
The driver ran from the vehicle, but was detained by police officers. He is currently in custody helping with ongoing enquiries.
