Tesco is reportedly re-introducing its rationing rules on essential items to ensure there is enough to go around.
It comes as COVID-19 cases continue to rise across the UK.
The grocer’s chief executive Dave Lewis said earlier in the week that stock is plentiful and there is no need for ‘unnecessary’ panic buying.
The supermarket giant will now be limiting flour, dried pasta, toilet roll, baby wipes and antibacterial wipes to three per customer a day, Sky News reported.
Supermarkets are anxious to avoid a repeat of the panic buying seen back in March when the coronavirus outbreak began to spread.
