Thieve have broken into a church near Carnmoney, letting off a fire extinguisher and causing damage to the interior.
The incident happened at Church Road and police believe entry was gained to the premises sometime between 8pm on Thursday night (June 14) and 12.45pm on Friday lunchtime (June 15).
Damage was caused to both the interior and exterior of the church when padlocks were cut.
Police say doors to both the boiler house and vestry were kicked and damaged. A fire extinguisher was also let off in the building.
Nothing however was taken from the church.
Police are appealing for witnesses.
