Three masked men, one of whom was reported to have been carrying a large blade, were seen in the Kansas Avenue area of north Belfast.
Detectives are appealing for information following the incident in the early hours of this morning (Tuesday, April 13).
It was reported to police at around 12:30 am.
Detective Sergeant Eric Fairfield said: “Our enquiries are continuing and anyone who witnessed anything suspicious in the area or who may have information which may assist us is asked to contact detectives in Musgrave on 101 quoting reference number 43 of 13/04/21.
