Three 14 year old boys arrested following an attempted robbery in Newtownards on Sunday (2 August) have been released on police bail pending further enquiries.
A woman was walking along East Street at around 8:20am and was being followed by three youths.
Detective Constable Kennedy said two males armed with knives approached the woman on Ann Street and demanded money. She was able to get away and no money was taken
“Our enquiries are continuing in relation to this very distressing ordeal for the victim. We would appeal to anyone who witnessed the incident or who saw anything suspicious in the area to contact detectives on 101, quoting reference number 700 02/08/20.
