Traffic and travel – flooding latest

Flooding has been causing major delays on the roads this morning with motorists struggling to find routes to work and school.


The River Bann in Coleraine has burst its banks leaving some areas, including the Strand Road, partially underwater.

The Coast Road is flooded near Portrush. The White Rocks area is particularly affected.

In Cogry, Co Antrim, the Cogry Road is partially flooded. Some motorists have been attempting to drive through the water, but the advice is to take an alternative route. Traffic is also busy in Ballyclare.

There is also flooding on the Moneysharvan Road near Maghera.

The Laganbank Road in Belfasrt has been closed due to flooding there. Townsend Street is also affected.
