Twenty six deaths and 3,576 new cases of COVID-19

Twenty six further people have died as a result of COVID-19 in Northern Ireland.

There are 3,576 new cases.

The figures are released as the PSNI issued 126 COVID fines of £200 each over the new year as a result of house parties across Northern Ireland.

They also handed out 34 prohibition notices over parties. Two businesses were dealt penalty notices for continuing to operate during restrictions.

Assistant Chief Constable Mark McEwan said it was ‘disappointing’ people chose to ignore the law.
